Only the Whyte Laydie and the Vega started life as a tenor - the rest are original 5-strings. These are all iconic vintage instruments, and you see some asking price inflation, but unlike vintage guitars all in all there seems to be an adequate number for sale (for rare instruments) and the prices look very like they did the last time I looked maybe five years ago. It will take me a week or two to get them all set up and forensically photographed, but they are mostly ok already - just a couple of skin heads that must be replaced.īefore buying these, I took a day to study the current market. I managed to acquire some old banjos yesterday - here is an "as found" picture.
